1. Listen Carefully
The most important thing in effective communication is to listen carefully. You cannot make any sense unless you know what is going on and what is expected. Most of the times we just send our message and do not listen to the receiver’s reaction. Effective Listening is the first step towards Effective Communication.

4. Ask Questions
If you are not clear with the message, don’t hesitate to ask the questions. Asking questions will ensure that you receive the correct message. If you are not clear with the message, don’t assume things on your own.
5. Improve Non-Verbal Communication
Non-verbal communication can be a good supplement to your message or at times it may even replace the verbal message. We often send and receive non-verbal messages both intentionally & unintentionally. For example, you are congratulating someone for their achievement but if you are not smiling, it will send an entirely different message. Non-verbal includes facial expressions, body language, sometimes touch, personal appearance, etc.
6. Use Correct Grammar & Vocabulary
To communicate more clearly, you must use the correct grammar & correct vocabulary. Using incorrect grammar or vocabulary will change the meaning of the message. If you are using a written mode of communication, ensure correct punctuation.
